Our mission, 'We Can Get It Done'  and accommodate any budget while providing quality service is what Custom Made Publications will accomplish for our customers.

The owner, Joyce Summerville-McDaniel, is a freelance writer who has been an entrepreneur for more than ten years. 

Our Business

The owner began to see a need for more personalized services in the area of publications as well as accounting services.  The focus was to provide a product that is memorable and special to each client. A product such as bookmarks or photo cards, which can last with the test of time and be a conversation piece at any dinner table.

We are a faith-based, female owned company that specializes in unique one-of-a-kind designed products.

Who We Are

Joyce Summerville-McDaniel, a seasoned professional, has over 40 years experience in customer service, administration, accounting, human resources, and entrepreneurship.  Born in San Francisco, CA and raised in the East Bay, she has been in the greater Sacramento area for over 25 years. 

Ms. Summerville-McDaniel worked in corporate America for over 40 years and recently decided to work her business full time.  She earned her Associates of Arts in general education from Cosumnes River College in 1990, her B.S. degree in Business Management from Golden Gate University in 1995, as well as a Masters degree in Public Administration also from Golden Gate University in 1999.  Additionally, she earned a Payroll Administration Certificate from California State University, Sacramento, CA in 2002.

The parent company, J. O. Billing Services, was established in July 2000, which provides bookkeeping services for small businesses.  In January 2008, Custom Made Publications began as a subsidiary of J. O. Billing Services.

Ms. Summerville-McDaniel puts God first and family right after God in her life.  She is also known for her attention to detail, being meticulous about her work, and always focusing on the customer.

In addition to working full time in her business, Ms. Summerville-McDaniel is also working on her memoir entitled ‘From the Projects to the Suburbs: How I Survived in Corporate America.’
